Newborn Care Specialist

triplets1A Newborn Care Specialist is available by the hour, day, week, or month. My 20 years of experience is varied and extensive. I have been a night nurse for premature newborn triplets and several sets of twins, a weekend nanny, a fill-in for a nanny on vacation, and several 6 month assignments as a full-time nanny, as well as many 4-8 week temporary positions for families who were between nannies. Many of my clients use my services 5-14 days at a time as the parents spend a much-needed vacation away from the children. In these cases, I come into your home and keep the schedule running as smoothly as possible. I cook; do laundry and light housekeeping; as well as drive carpool and/or other necessary errands including grocery shopping — all while keeping your children happy, healthy, entertained, and on track with their schoolwork! I will travel with you if you want to take the kids, but yet want to have time for yourself.

WHEN TO HIRE A NEWBORN CARE SPECIALIST:

  • Newborn Care Specialist – The first few weeks after giving birth, especially multiples, can be overwhelming.  I offer complete care for your newborn plus all related tasks along with support and assistance for you, the new mother, as you recover. I can stay as little as two weeks or as long as 3 months and cover a 10 hour shift or up to around the clock 24/7, with breaks. The choice is yours.

I had the honor of being a part of the Baby Dream Team of nannies who helped the Masche sextuplets in the summer/fall of 2007.

I offer complete care for your newborn plus all related tasks along with support and assistance for you, the new mother, as you recover.

I can stay as little as two weeks or as long as 3 months and cover a 10 hour shift or up to around the clock 24/7 with breaks. The choice is yours. For round the clock care I nurture both baby and mother.

Baby care includes bathing, diapering and dressing; feeding and assisting with breast feeding; preparation and clean up of formula and bottles; tending to medical monitors, oxygen and medicine if necessary; doing baby’s laundry; and keeping nursery and play areas clean and tidy.

I care for you by supporting and encouraging while modeling child care and nurturing techniques that I adapt to your style.

Not only do I handle the daily tasks but I will help you establish a good feed/wake time/sleep routine, by modeling all the tips and techniques I have learned over the years. All the while, I am encouraging you and dad in your new role as parents.

I will also organize the nursery and help you figure out the must have, might want and not necessary items.

Some mothers prefer night care only. You may decide you want to handle the days and I will focus on the nights, encouraging a good sleep pattern and establishing healthy sleep habits, allowing you to get some much needed rest.

If you choose to nurse, I will bring the baby to you, make sure the baby is properly positioned and latched on, then stay while you nurse or return when finished, burp the baby and settle them back down to sleep.

I have experience with singletons, twins and triplets and excellent references.

I would enjoy an opportunity to care for you and your newborn when the time comes.
